1 Kings 21 · Grade 2
Ahab Wants a Garden
Read the Story
Naboth had a vineyard. It was next to King Ahab's house. Ahab wanted it for a garden. Naboth said no. The land came from his family. God's law said to keep it.
Ahab went home and pouted. He would not eat. Queen Jezebel said she would get the vineyard. She wrote letters with lies about Naboth. Men lied about Naboth, and Naboth died. Then Ahab took the vineyard.
God sent Elijah to Ahab. Elijah said God saw the evil they did. Ahab was sorry. He did not eat and wore rough cloth. God saw that Ahab was humble. God waited to bring the trouble.
Memory Verse
