1 Kings 20 · Grade 2
A Proud King
Read the Story
Ben Hadad was king of Syria. He came with a big army to Samaria. He wanted Ahab's gold and silver. He bragged that he would win.
Ahab told him not to brag before the battle. A prophet came to Ahab. He said God would give Israel the win. Then Ahab would know God is the Lord.
Israel won! Ben Hadad ran away. He came back again. He said God was only a god of the hills. But God rules everywhere. Israel won again.
Memory Verse
“The king of Israel answered, “Tell him, ‘Don’t let him who puts on his armor brag like he who takes it off.’””
