1 Kings 15 · Grade 2
A King Who Did Right
Read the Story
Abijam was king of Judah. He did wrong. But God kept His promise to David. He gave Abijam a son to be king.
His son Asa did what was right. He took away the idols his father made. His grandmother had made an idol. Asa did not let her be queen mother anymore. He burned her idol.
Asa's heart was true to God all his days. In Israel, the kings did evil. A man named Baasha became king there. There was war between Asa and Baasha.
Memory Verse
“Asa did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, as David his father did.”
