1 Kings 11 · Grade 2
Solomon's Heart Turns
Read the Story
Solomon had many wives. They prayed to false gods. When Solomon was old, they turned his heart away. His heart was not true to God like David's heart.
God was angry with Solomon. God said He would take most of the kingdom from his son. But God would leave one tribe for David's sake.
A prophet named Ahijah met a man named Jeroboam. Ahijah tore his new coat into twelve pieces. He told Jeroboam to take ten pieces. God would give him ten tribes. Solomon was king for forty years. Then he died.
Memory Verse
“When Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father was.”
